Ambry + Kegan

How They Met

They met in October of 2010 on the Ole Miss campus during football season, where Ambry was a junior transferring from Jones and Kegan was a sophomore.

Kegan: When I first met Ambry she was wearing her favorite Ole Miss sweatshirt with a polo hat, and we would pass each other everyday at exactly 12:15 at the Turner Center bus stop. I remember only speaking and smiling until she opened up from the shy girl I remember.

Ambry: Everyday my classes ended at noon and by the time I made it to the bus stop, Kegan would be making his way to the Delta Psi House for lunch. He would ALWAYS make sure he gave me the biggest smile and softest hello, that left me wondering why me out of the other girls at the bus stop. Spring semester came, and I got a DM from Kegan asking me to help with his ASB campaign, that basically started our friendship!

First Date

Our first date was at Old Venice.

Ambry: First of all Kegan showed up 10 minutes late lol.. only for me to open the door just to smile because we were wearing the exact same colors definitely not planed and Diana is my proof.

Kegan: Every guy knows the excitement of taking a girl out on a first date. So I pulled up at the Connection, and I could have sworn I was five minutes early lol. I’ll just say Ambry is not the person to try new foods with. She went to the restroom, and I slid in Calamari as an appetizer. She questioned me the rest of the night asking why was the “chicken” so tender and super white in color. It is 2020 and she has yet to order that particular appetizer.

First Road Trip

Six Flags over Georgia definitely brought back child hood memories so it was the perfect getaway.

Kegan: I never seen Ambry laugh so hard in my life. She had all the riders laughing…the wooden roller coaster at Six Flags was a bit painful and I know my face showed it the entire ride.  I got her back with the fake snake I won…she has a major ophidiophobia to the point she was stuttering after I picked the prize.

Ambry: I was so excited when Kegan mailed me the season pass and that was the invitation of the no judgment week at Six Flags lol. We arrived thirty minutes before closing on the first day and Kegan was shocked at how quick we were moving from my excitement. We ended the week with dinner at the Sun Dial in downtown Atlanta. I’m now ready for part 2 with KJ.

I proposed and she said yes!

Kegan: As I mentioned earlier Ambry doesn’t like surprises. I remember telling her to close her eyes and walk backwards after we parked and got out of the car. She had no idea what was about to happen. She opened her eyes to a huge banner, family, a private jet, and a glowing Vera Wang! I think I did pretty good.

Ambry: I was totally caught off guard, it was storming that morning as I was getting dressed for church. We went to two services that day in the midst of storming, so you know my feet were hurting from wearing heels lol. We were finally heading home, I was trailing Kegan and he called asking, “do you mind following me to a clients house to pick up paperwork?” my response sure, hope it doesn’t take long I’m hungry lol we pull up to the airport, THE AIRPORT?! y’all know I asked I thought you said a house lol …was ignored but then drove past the gate and BOOM tears began to fall seeing my family standing there holding this huge banner asking me to be Mrs. Coleman!

KJ’s Here!

Our son was born

Ambry: 9/30/19 will be a day that I’ll never forget. I’m thankful for close family and friends that would keep me on my toes but major love goes to Kegan for the unlimited love, support, and goofy jokes. I’ve never experienced so much pain that turned into a beautiful moment when I got to hold my KJ. So yes! waking Kegan at @2am to get Hot Cheetos puffs and broccoli and cheese was worth it, lol.

Kegan: I remember dancing in the hospital to Michael Jackson waiting on that magical word PUSH. I also have have some unreleased vlogs of the entire event. I believe Ambry was aggravated with me during that time but hopefully she won’t admit that. She was a “roller coaster” of anger and excitement that day.

Time to plan the big day

Kegan: A mix of pure joy, panic, and acceptance lol…I think me and Ambry found out even more about each other working together in planning our wedding. I’m super excited for the big day and can’t believe it’s now actually almost here!

Ambry: I’m so excited not so much nervous just ready to live my life as a carrying mother and a loving wife to my bae-maxx Mr. Coleman.
